Scientific activity
Danilo Zia’s research activity mainly focuses on the investigation of structured light, specifically the Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) of light, and its application inside Quantum information protocols. He got his Ph.D in May 2024 with a thesis entitled “Innovative tools and technologies for orbital angular momentum based Quantum Information protocols”. During his thesis, he initially studied the generation and measurement of OAM states, using innovative tools such as machine learning and quantum dot sources. Then, he analyzed their employment in quantum information processing protocols, implementing instances of quantum simulation and quantum machine learning.Danilo Zia is a co-author of 7 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including 1 in Nature Photonics as the first author and 1 in Physical Review Letters as co-first, with an h-index of 5 according to Scopus (6 according to Google Scholar).
